With our pontoon located beside the ferry on Wivenhoe Quay, we organise social rows in our wooden gig “Defiance'' on the River Colne, rowing to nearby destinations such as Whitehouse Beach, Alresford Creek, Roman River and the Hythe. These might be midweek, lunchtime, weekend or afternoon rows, as well as the often magical dawn and dusk rows.
Our Corsairs members are of all ages and abilities and from towns and villages across Colchester and Tendring, not just from Wivenhoe. All have discovered and share in the enjoyment that comes from being out on the water, close to nature and the coastal environment.
No experience is needed, so why not give it a go? We’ll introduce everything, and support you all the way.
